Stina - a picturesque village in the Tomashpil region of the Vinnytska oblast with enormous ethnic and natural richness. It is situated in the valley of the Rusava river, in between the steep slopes on one of which sprawls the reservation of the local significance called "Sonna Ppoliana" where each year blooms the relict plant Atropa belladonna or the "Dream grass" (Ukr.). On the castle mountain of Stina is situated a church of Saint Nicholas which origin is covered in mist of legends. Nearby is the old cemetery. The Stina village is mentioned in historic chronicles and played a particular role in the struggle of the local population with the Polish and the Ottoman states. Legends exist that from those hard and bloody times the village has inherited its unique black-and-white embroidery technique.
